BRIEF HISTORY OF BARANGAY SAN FRANCISCO

First known as “PULONG PULIAO” and created in 1906, it was later renamed San Francisco in honor of one of its prominent resident Don Francisco Bacani.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC PROFILE OF SAN FRANCISCO

To track Barangay San Francisco, the municipal road entering Maluid should be accessed. Marking a population of 1,557 in 2014, San Francisco has a total number of 346 households with a land area of 286.98 hectares.
The general source of income is coming from farming and agricultural activities with some 147 farmers, 67 livestock producers and some other engaged with agricultural services. Other sources of family income include contractual wages (102 HH heads), and regular salaries of employed professionals (21 HH heads). Small-scale family businesses are also among the investments of some families.
