BRIEF HISTORY OF BARANGAY SAN FERNANDO
Upon the establishment of the Local Government under the republic of the Philippines in 1898, it was declared as one of the barrios of the Municipality. It was named after Don Fernando Gamalinda, one of the Gobernadorcillios of the town. Now inhabited by 1,902 residents, it is one of the barrios comprising the “Poblacionâ€
Various establishments could be found in this Barangay including 2 public and 2 private cemeteries, the Tarlac Electric Cooperative I (TARELCO I), Macabulos Memorial High School, two of the major gasoline stations (TOTAL and Petron), and other private-owned businesses and domains. With these figures, there are at least sixty (60) regularly-employed household heads, some 299 self-employed family heads and twenty OFWs.
